Governance

Double Oak is a Type A General Law form of government. Double Oak is defined as a General Law City and is restricted to single family residences with a minimum 1-acre lot size, and a small commercial development area. Residents govern Double Oak represented by a Mayor and a Town Council of five members. Council members are elected for 2-year terms.

Meetings

The Double Oak Town Council meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall. When a holiday is observed on Monday, then the regular meeting will be held the following Tuesday. and residents are encouraged to attend.

Town’s YouTube Channel

In an effort to increase community awareness, government transparency, promote volunteering and increase involvement in the Town of Double Oak with Town Staff & Elected Officials, we will be streaming Town Council Meetings Online. We appreciate any feedback in regard to the videos or any problems you may have experienced attempting to view the videos. We appreciate your patience & look forward to being able to provide this to our community.

How to Watch Live:

The Town's online public meetings can be viewed online during the meeting in the "Live" section of the YouTube Channel.

  • To view please visit the Town of Double Oak YouTube Channel

  • This is not an interactive broadcast and no interaction with the council will be available. If you wish to address agenda topics, please attend our council meeting and sign up to speak at the entry way doors to the council chambers.

View Later:

  • If unforeseen technical issues arise in the broadcast stream, the video will be available as soon as possible afterwards by manual upload and may take a few hours to render video quality depending on the length of the council meeting and the size of the video itself. The video will be available on the YouTube channel after it's converted.

Please be aware that the Town will put forth all effort to broadcast meetings, but by law it is not a legal requirement for our municipality. Please see the Texas Government Code Subchapter 551 - Open Meetings, for more information.
