Double Oak July 4th Parade and Picnic

This annual event is a staple of our community, bringing family and friends together and creating lifelong memories for all. It is organized and executed by the Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department and other community volunteers. Volunteers for the set-up on July 3rd and for the picnic on July 4 are always appreciated. If you are interested in helping either day please contact Kathy Heimerdinger at RetChief552@dovfd.org.

I hope you will take time to visit and enjoy some Family Friendly Fun, Games, Food, Snacks, Refreshments, and Live Music at John B. Wright Park. There will also be the opportunity to bid in the Silent Auction and buy Raffle Tickets for prizes.

The parade starts at 9:30am at the corner of Simmons and the north entrance of The Oaks and will proceed down Cross Timbers Drive ending at John B Wright Park. Additional information can be found at: https://www.dovfd.org/community/

The picnic starts at 10am and will be open until 2pm. Tickets for food and refreshments will be on sale the day of the event. Cash or Venmo accepted.

We hope to see you on July 4th. We appreciate your support of our Volunteer Fire Department.

🌳 Fun Fact About Our Town

🌳 As Double Oak celebrates Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday, we're also honoring one of our own cherished hometown traditions.

Historical records indicate that Double Oak’s annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic dates back to approximately 1981, making this year’s celebration roughly the 46th annual parade. What began as a small-town gathering has grown into one of Double Oak’s longest-running community traditions, bringing neighbors, families, firefighters, and friends together for generations.

For nearly half a century, the Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department has helped make this event a cornerstone of community pride and fellowship. As we celebrate our nation's 250th year, we also celebrate the traditions that make Double Oak such a special place to call home.

Happy Independence Day, Double Oak—and thank you for 46 years of hometown tradition!

See you around town. ☀️
