Election Information

The Town Secretary's Office is responsible for conducting Municipal Elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas. Municipal elections are held on the first Saturday in May of each year, as authorized by state law.

The Double Oak Town Council is composed of a mayor and five council members.

General Municipal Election

The Town Secretary’s Office is responsible for conducting Municipal Elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas.

The General Municipal Election is conducted each year on the first Saturday in May.

All Council Members are elected for a two year term are elected at-large, meaning they represent the entire Town.

May 2, 2026 General Election

The next Town General Election will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 7 am - 7 pm, to elect three Council members for two-year terms.

Qualifications for office

All candidates for office must be citizens of the United States, have lived in the state for a minimum of one year prior to the filing deadline, be a resident of the Town of Double Oak for six months prior to the filing deadline; must be a registered voter of the territory elected from as of the filing deadline, and be a minimum of 18 years of age.

May 2, 2026 - General Election to elect 3 Council Members to a 2-year term

May 1, 2027 - General Election to elect Mayor and 2 Council Members to a 2-year term

May 6, 2028 - General Election to elect 3 Council Members to a 2-year term

May 5, 2029 - General Election to elect Mayor and 2 Council Members to a 2-year term

May 4, 2030 - General Election to elect 3 Council Members to a 2-year term
