Friday Update (November 21, 2025)
Wishing all Double Oak Citizens a Very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving
As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, the Town of Double Oak extends heartfelt gratitude to every resident who helps make our community such a special place to call home.
Our town’s strength has always come from the kindness of neighbors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the quiet, everyday acts of service that keep Double Oak safe, welcoming, and connected. This season reminds us how fortunate we are to live in a community where people look out for one another—not just in times of need, but as a way of life.
We are especially thankful for those who serve our town throughout the year: our first responders, Town staff, boards and commissions, volunteers, and all who give their time and talents to support Double Oak. May this Thanksgiving bring you peace, joy, and moments of rest with the people who mean the most to you.
From our town family to yours, we wish you a warm and blessed holiday season.
Sincerely,
Town Administration
Mayor and Town Council

Double Oak Town Council Vacancy
The Town of Double Oak is accepting applications from residents interested in being considered to fill the vacant Town Council position created by the resignation of Councilmember Janet Robertson.
To be eligible, applicants must have lived in Double Oak for at least 12 months and be willing to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term. Interested residents may obtain the application form directly from the Town Administrator, and all applications must be received, at Town Hall, by Friday, December 5th at 3:00 p.m. to be considered.
While citizens may submit an application to express their interest, it is important to note that councilmembers make all nominations, and submitting an application does not guarantee a nomination. During the appointment meeting, councilmembers may each nominate one eligible citizen, and once nominations are closed, the Council will vote on each nominee in the order they were nominated. A majority vote of the councilmembers present is required to fill the vacancy, and once a nominee receives that majority, the process concludes and the appointee will be immediately sworn into office. The Town encourages qualified, service-minded residents to apply and take part in this important civic opportunity.

Property Update: FM 407 and Simmons Road
As of 11/21/2025 The town was contacted by a developer, and a meeting was held on November 14th. It was very preliminary, and a few details were shared. In the coming weeks there should be more information shared that would be provided to the citizens.
The property at the corner of FM 407 and Simmons Road has long been identified as one of the last available parcels in Double Oak for retail or mixed-use development. The land has been listed for sale for many years, and recently the Town was notified by the property’s realtor that a potential contract is now pending.
The town will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
Double Oak Police Speed Tracker Trailer Statistics
Speed Tracker Results will now be provided on the eCode360 website at the link below with the latest results. The trailer will stay at specific locations for extended periods as we continue to analyze the data to assist in staffing our patrol hours at various locations.
The Town parked the Speed Trailer for 30 days on Kings Road to gain a statistical look at how many cars and trucks use Kings Road on a 30-day basis.
We will report the findings at the end of the 30 days.
